The San Mateo-Foster City School District Board of Trustees reported in open session that, in closed session, it approved a compromise agreement in Office of Administrative Hearings case no. 2025111962.
Board President (speaker 1) said the board voted 5–0 to resolve claims against the district through a package of services and payments that will not exceed $31,500 for compensatory education and independent educational evaluations, plus up to $30,000 in associated attorneys’ fees. The settlement description included provision for a registered behavior technician, monthly board-certified behavior-analyst consultation and other compensatory supports.
The board also announced it had voted, again 5–0, to issue a notice releasing and reassigning a certificated assistant principal pursuant to Education Code §44951 effective at the end of the 2025–26 school year, and directed the superintendent or designee to send appropriate legal notice. There were no reported abstentions or absences for either action.
The board disclosed the case number and the maximum monetary amounts approved; it did not discuss additional personnel details in open session. The board did not receive public comment on those closed-session items prior to reconvening.
Next steps: district staff will issue the legally required notices for the personnel action and process settlement paperwork; the board’s public minutes will reflect the roll-call outcomes.
