Carbondale council approves consent agenda including $1.66 million warrant and water-main contract

The Carbondale City Council voted to approve its consent agenda, which bundled routine items including minutes, financial warrants, contract awards and a small budget adjustment.

Manager Reno summarized the items: approval of the 03/10/2026 meeting minutes; approval of warrant 1533 for the period ending 03/13/2026 in the amount of $1,658,547.02; acceptance of minutes from boards, commissions and committees; appointments and reappointments; award of a contract for East Walnut Street water-main replacement from Giant City to Kelly Ray to Scott SQ Construction LLC of Cobden in the amount of $448,135; award of a contract for a Bicentennial Industrial Park redundant booster pump to Twin Lakes Incorporated of Urbana for $88,128; a TIF redevelopment agreement for 231 West Main Street with ZACM LLC; a budget adjustment of $77,350 to the fire department's FY2026 budget for 17 sets of turnout gear; purchase of a 2019 forklift from Illinois Lift Equipment for $19,999; and declaration of a 1974 Clark forklift as surplus property.

A roll call vote recorded affirmative votes from the members present and the motion was announced as passing.
