Robla board OKs lunch/recess vendor, new data and evaluation contracts and adopts dismissal resolution

The Robla school board unanimously approved several service agreements and adopted a personnel resolution at the meeting.

The board adopted Resolution No. 941 to dismiss certain certificated temporary employees; the motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote. The resolution was presented as a formal personnel action; the transcript does not list individual employee names.

The board also approved a short-term service agreement with Allevo to provide structured lunchtime and recess activities at Main Avenue, Taylor Street and Robla Elementary for the remainder of the school year. Staff described the contract as an approximately eight-week pilot during which Allevo will send two coaches to each site three days per week; students may choose whether to participate. A trustee asked how structured activities would affect unstructured play and said she supported the trial but wanted a fuller presentation explaining the expected value and how the program would preserve elements of free play.

Trustees approved a 2026–27 contract with PowerSchool Group LLC to replace the district's current teacher-evaluation system (Frontline). Staff said the first year will include one-time implementation costs and that the recurring cost is estimated to be about $4,300 higher per year than the previous system. According to staff, PowerSchool will host rubrics and support the district's shift to California teaching standards in evaluation practice.

The board also approved a one-year agreement with Parsec Education to create a consolidated dashboard and provide training on data use. Staff said Parsec will import local and state assessment, attendance and student-group data so administrators can compare outcomes (for example, after-school participants vs. others) and build capacity to use the platform. Staff said the goal is to have data ready by July 1 but that dashboard build time requires several weeks.
