Representatives from Life Time, the company that produces the Crusher & the Tuscher endurance events, asked Beaver City on March 24 to sponsor emergency medical services for this year's race by paying up to $5,000 directly to the contractor.
Philip Ball, director of partnership marketing and sales for Life Time, explained the $5,000 would be applied to the event's emergency-services invoice "so that we keep the dollars within the county," and described marketing benefits the city would receive: a logo and link on the event website, inclusion in participant emails, PA announcements, social posts and five expo spaces at packet pickup.
Ginger Hall, race director, said the event has historically used local ambulance and first-responder services and praised the county providers. Council members asked clarifying questions about the use of funds and past practice. Council Member Hunter moved to provide the $5,000 for medical services and Council Member Holt seconded; the motion passed and staff will circulate the contract for internal review and signature.
"We appreciate the continued partnership," Ball said after the vote.
Staff noted the arrangement will be executed via contract and DocuSign once legal and administrative review is complete.
