Cameron County Commissioners on April 18 approved a bundle of routine but immediate county actions, including several Act 13 funding awards, child-welfare service agreements and a $35,000 opioid-recovery award.
The board unanimously approved a proclamation recognizing April as "Pennsylvania 811 Safe Digging Month," an Act 13 award of $7,500 to support construction of a county dog park and an Act 13 award of $30,000 to reconstruct the middle baseball field and replace fencing at the Little League complex. Commissioner Moate moved each measure and the motions were seconded and carried without recorded opposition.
Also approved were two purchase-of-service agreements between Cameron County Children and Youth Services and Valley Youth House to provide child welfare services; a budgeted line-item donation to Mountaineer Search and Rescue for vehicle expenses; and a $35,000 opioid-related funding request from ADAS to establish a recovery center at its Main Street facility. Commissioners recorded that staff from Probation—Steven Fingado and Andy Hathorn—provided information supporting program authorizations under Act 2000-41 for Intermediate Punishment Programs for the Probation Department, and the board approved those program authorizations.
The board also approved a letter of support for CAPSEA’s application to become an Access Site for the Western PA Continuum of Care’s Coordinated Entry System and amended the signatories on the county PLIGIT account to add Treasurer Tara Newton alongside Commissioner Chair Jessica Herzing.
All motions noted in the public minutes were described as moved, seconded and "all in favor and so carried." The meeting record does not list individual dissenting votes for any item.
