Chairman Romer brought two bills forward for non‑oral testimony and committee record.
House Bill 209 (second hearing) would exempt tips from state, municipal and school district income taxes. Chairman Romer said his office received no requests for in‑person testimony and noted written testimony from Lisonbee Roberts with the Ohio Restaurant and Hospitality Alliance was submitted for the record.
House Bill 443 (third hearing) would prohibit enforcement of property tax liens against certain homesteads. Chairman Romer said there were no in‑person opponents but that multiple written opponent testimonies were on file, including filings from county treasurer offices and Joel Schiller of Hamilton County and NAR Solutions' managing director.
Both bills were entered into the record with their submitted written materials; committee members did not take live testimony and no votes were held. The records will remain available for committee members to review as the bills proceed through the committee process.
