At its May 22 meeting the Lake Stevens School District Board approved a series of routine and project items. Key votes and outcomes included:
• Agenda approval (motion by Director Lund, seconded by Director Iseminger) — approved unanimously by members present.
• Approval of May 8 regular meeting minutes (motion by Director Kirby, seconded by Director Lund) — approved with Director Iseminger abstaining because he did not attend that meeting.
• Consent agenda (motion by Director Iseminger) — approved unanimously; included Warrant Nos. 312475–312627 totaling $844,142.79, personnel actions (employment, resignations, retirements) and PTA/ASB donations.
• Curriculum adoption: Agile Minds: Intensified Algebra for Cavelero MHS (motion by Director Kirby) — approved unanimously.
• Approved submission of HiCap Program plan to OSPI (motion by Director Lund) — approved unanimously.
• Final acceptance of public works projects (motion by Director Kirby) — approved unanimously after Operations confirmed punch list completion.
• Contract awards: design services to NAC and Dykeman; NAC Architecture selected for Elementary #8 and for Skyline and Lake Stevens Middle School modernizations; Modern Painting Group LLC awarded exterior painting at North Lake Middle School ($135,000); Rubenstein's Contract Carpet awarded flooring at North Lake Middle School ($218,962) — all approved unanimously.
All votes reported as ‘‘unanimous’’ reflect concurrence among directors present; Director Nina Hanson was recorded as unable to attend. Where a named board member abstained, that is noted above.
