The Buffalo County Board of Commissioners handled a slate of routine but substantive administrative items at its March 24 meeting.
The board approved the March 20, 2026 payroll claims and a long list of March vendor claims across multiple funds. As part of budgeted transfers, the board moved $125,000 from the General Fund (0100) to the Weed District Fund (5400); that motion passed with the commissioners present voting Aye (Commissioner Timothy Higgins was recorded absent).
After personnel recognitions for county employees with 5- and 10-year anniversaries, the board approved a Request for Proposals for pickleball courts at the Buffalo County Recreation Area and set the bid date for Tuesday, April 14, 2026. The board also approved purchase of a pickup from the State Purchasing Contract.
On procurement oversight, the board directed Board Administrator Lynn Martin, aided by the sheriff’s office, to obtain at least three informal proposals for county vehicle maintenance, with review to begin on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
County Clerk Heather A. Christensen reminded attendees of a Medicare educational event scheduled for March 25, 2026; no members of the public addressed the board during the citizen forum portion of the meeting. Chairperson Sherry L. Morrow adjourned the meeting at 10:02 a.m.
