The House unanimously adopted House Concurrent Resolution 2053 on March 26, expressing regret at the passing of Bradley (Brad) Brower and extending condolences to his family.
The resolution, read for third reading on the floor, listed Brower’s birth and death dates and summarized his community work — including more than 20 years as a realtor and leadership as president of the Willow Neighborhood Association. Representative Marquez moved adoption and asked the body to stand for a moment of respectful silence; the Speaker announced the measure was unanimously adopted and the Clerk was instructed to convey the measure to the Senate.
Representative Marquez also introduced Brower’s husband, Andrew Sansoni, his mother Sally Brower, his sister Lynn Brasher, and other family and friends in the gallery and recalled Brower’s community-building work and advocacy for historic neighborhoods.
Why it matters: Memorial resolutions record a legislative body’s official recognition of a local figure’s service and provide a formal statement of sympathy to surviving family and constituents.
What’s next: The Clerk will convey HCR 2053 to the Senate; this action is a formal memorial and does not create policy or appropriations.
