Barnesville reviews results of 2014 CDBG sewer improvements serving 376 residents

At a May 24 noon public hearing, the City of Barnesville received a final project review for the 2014 CDBG Sewer Improvements Project. Keeley Garrett of Allen-Smith Consulting presented the final quarterly report and supporting documents including the Section 3 Final Report and Fair Housing Notice.

Garrett told council the project provided sewer improvements in the target area covering Adams Court, Carey J. Buckner, Eleventh, Fourteenth, Lyons, Mill, Ninth, Parkview, Richardson, Sanders, Thirteenth, Twelfth, Watts, and Wilson Streets. The consultant reported 376 total citizens served by the project; 360 (96%) were low-to-moderate income. Construction used $500,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and a cash match/leverage of $115,221.24.

Mayor Peter L. Banks thanked Garrett and said the City was pleased with the number of beneficiaries. There were no public comments recorded at the hearing. The council adjourned following the presentation.
