The Hood River County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a consent agenda on May 20 covering meeting minutes from January through April 2024; declaration of eight filing cabinets as surplus; OLCC temporary sales and liquor license signoffs for local businesses; authorization for SNAP outreach and confirmation of an OHA modernization grant email poll; a parks budget adjustment of $39,160; a letter of support for the Gorge Recovery Center; award of the Owen Timber Sale #25‑1 to Rosboro Company, LLC; FEMA Public Assistance registration for January 2024 storm damages; and a Recreational Immunity resolution.
On work‑session action items carried forward to the business meeting, the Board unanimously appointed members to the Ambulance Service Area Advisory Committee: Dr. Virk (physician representative, to be confirmed), Doug Kelly, Trish Elliot, and fire district representatives from the City of Hood River, Parkdale and Cascade Locks, with staff serving as ex‑officio/advisory members. The Board also appointed Michael Mills to represent Hood River County on the Columbia River Gorge Commission beginning July 1, 2024. Commissioners appointed Tommy Durham to the Fair Board. All listed motions passed by 5‑0 votes.
Chair Euwer and staff noted that if further applicants come forward for ASA or Fair Board vacancies, they will be brought back for consideration. The Board directed staff to continue outreach regarding appointments and upcoming hearings.
