The Rhode Island Senate on March 12, 2026, approved its consent calendar and adopted a sequence of ceremonial and condolence resolutions honoring several community members and recognizing a parade honoree.
The clerk read multiple resolutions into the record; the chamber adopted the consent calendar on a recorded tally of 33 in favor and 0 opposed. Members then considered and adopted resolutions expressing the Senate's condolences on the passings of James M. Donilon, Anna Casale, Francisco J. Bautista and Vincent D'Adamo Jr., and a resolution honoring Miranda Marie Moussa Macy for being named Miss Ireland in the West Warwick St. Patrick's Day parade.
Senators offered personal remarks in memory of each individual. On the resolution for Vincent D'Adamo Jr., Senator Famiglietti said D'Adamo's "love and care" for his neighbors and his willingness to help others exemplified a rare character, and he urged the chamber to remember D'Adamo's community service. "Such character is a rarity that deserves to be recognized," Famiglietti said. Senator Dimitri and others recalled D'Adamo's long civic involvement and service in the community.
When the Senate honored Miranda Macy, members welcomed the honoree to the chamber gallery; Senator Raphtakis and Senator McKinney welcomed Macy and noted her community service and school involvement.
Each condolence resolution directed the secretary of state to transmit duly certified copies to the families named in the resolutions. After announcements about upcoming committee schedules and a forthcoming chamber dedication on Saint Joseph's Day, the Senate adjourned in memory of the four individuals noted above.
The session included routine committee scheduling announcements (finance, housing, judiciary) and a notice that the commission studying local control for Central Falls public schools will meet later in March.
