Recreation Director Sedlak told the council on March 9 that the department’s Leprechaun Hunt had 136 children registered and about 180 attendees and thanked local performers who participated. Sedlak said the Commons playground demolition has begun and the city anticipates roughly five weeks to complete replacement or site work; soccer and flag football practices begin next week with games starting April 11. Bocce has seven registered participants so far, yoga is scheduled at the Cassidy on March 21, and Pool Manager Jacob is conducting Red Cross lifeguard certification classes.
Council President Rounds added that about 160 people are registered for the City Council Easter Egg Hunt scheduled March 28. Council members asked about storm-damaged trees near Greenbrier and were told crews will remove trees damaged in the storm or for access during the playground work.
No formal council action was required; these items were reported for council and resident information.
