Votes at a glance: Senate passes motocross liability, transmission land restoration, emergency response and weight resolution

The Iowa Senate approved a package of bills after the passage of House File 2739. Lawmakers adopted an amendment and passed House File 917, which limits facility liability for inherent risks at motocross facilities. House File 2583, which requires transmission owners to file an initial emergency response plan, was amended at the request of the Iowa utility regulator and passed as amended; Senator Sweeney said the amendment was requested by the IUB to add an initial emergency response plan filing requirement.

Senator Zumba (Delaware) moved House Concurrent Resolution 6 urging Congress to raise the maximum gross weight for certain commercial vehicles on the interstate from 80,000 to 96,000 pounds; the chamber adopted the resolution.
