Trustees debate late personnel-report changes and remove a claim from consent docket

Trustees used the consent and personnel-report items to surface concerns about process and documentation. During consideration of the consent agenda a trustee moved to remove claim docket item 96093 (page 8, check number 119559) for separate review; members questioned whether services had been rendered and whether the underlying contract had terminated.

On the personnel report (item 6.10), Trustee Goldman said the report had gone through at least three revisions and portions were provided to trustees only hours before the meeting, leaving insufficient time for review. "That's not good leadership, that's not good stewardship," Goldman said, and said he would vote no without more time to digest changes. Superintendent Dr. Morne and human-resources staff responded that the most recent amendments corrected an incorrect effective date and were not substantive. HR Director Dr. McJohns explained that an entry listed as "spouse citizenship proceedings" refers to leave requested because an employee’s spouse needed to attend citizenship proceedings.

Trustee Gomez raised questions about a resignation letter that listed an effective date of 07/01/2026 and asked whether it should read June 30; Attorney Harris offered to look into the point. After discussion the board approved the personnel report by roll call. The board also approved a ratification of the Nov. 25, 2025 personnel report to remedy a prior voting sufficiency issue, with attorney Harris explaining the ratification would place the earlier actions back into compliance.

Separately, the board approved multiple consent-agenda items and routine resolutions (facility-usage requests, paraprofessional training, policy second readings and professional-development requests). Trustee Gomez asked the board to consider adding a second member to the finance committee and asked that early-voting site approval for the Carrie Gosch Early Learning Center be added to an upcoming agenda.
