Angela McDonald, who identified herself as a resident commissioner of the Boca Raton Housing Authority, read a prepared statement into the record at the March 23 workshop saying the authority’s Jan. 28 vote (6–1) adopted a policy limiting individual commissioners’ requests for information from the executive director. McDonald said she cast the only dissenting vote and said she had previously faced a motion to remove her from the board.
"I was placed on this board to represent residents, and I intend to do exactly that...My dissenting vote on January 28 is no different," McDonald said, reading into the public record and stating she intended the statement to put all involved parties on formal notice. Mayor Singer interrupted at the three‑minute limit and suggested McDonald follow up by email because the workshop was not the ideal forum for grievances.
Council did not take formal action or offer a substantive public response during the workshop. Mayor Singer acknowledged the concern, noted the forum limitations and said members could reach staff by email. No staff report or investigation was presented at the meeting.
