The Wasco City Council adopted a resolution to close out a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) that funded an update to the city’s wastewater master plan, staff said. The grant award was recorded in the presentation as $125,000, which the city used to evaluate its wastewater collection and treatment system and to prioritize upgrades and repairs.
"This funding was provided to update the city's wastewater master plan," staff explained, adding that the grant helped produce a 25‑year plan and prioritized upgrades and repairs. The council opened a public hearing; no members of the public spoke. The council then adopted the resolution authorizing the city manager or designee to close out submissions to the California Department of Housing and Community Development.
Council members expressed support and recorded their votes by roll call; the clerk recorded four ayes with the mayor absent. Staff said the closeout is an administrative step to complete the grant process with the state and did not note outstanding requirements or obligations beyond the submission.
The resolution finalizes the city's submission to the California Department of Housing and Community Development for the CDBG grant tied to the wastewater master plan update.
