Roosevelt County commissioners at their March 17 meeting approved several routine administrative actions and a community proclamation.
The board approved the minutes for the regular public meeting and a March 10 special meeting by voice vote. Commissioners also appointed Joy Finnekum Johnson to the Council on Aging for the Culberson Senior Center and approved transferring Robert Armstrong from the jail to the maintenance department; the board cited Armstrong’s multi-year service as a reason he would be an asset in maintenance.
The board authorized an $11,900 purchase for a new garage door at the Culberson Museum; meeting comments noted the museum had about $15,000 available for the expense. Commissioners described the purchase as necessary for maintenance and protection of museum property and approved it by voice vote.
On a health department request, commissioners unanimously proclaimed April as Strengthening Families Month in coordination with the Montana Children’s Trust Fund and outlined local activities, including a multigenerational planting event at the senior center on April 24 and faith-group outreach for related events.
