Commissioners approve BFJRA charter amendments and appoint Craig Cutchall

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved two resolutions submitted by the Bedford Fulton Joint Recreation Authority and appointed a new authority board member.

Representatives Matthew Wakefield, Paul Johnston and Eric Weisbrod presented proposed amendments to the BFJRA articles of incorporation. The board passed Resolution 9 of 2025 to increase the number of BFJRA board members and Resolution 10 of 2025 to authorize the authority to appoint police officers who would have the same rights as other police officers in the Commonwealth with respect to Authority property. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve both resolutions; each motion carried with all commissioners voting in favor.

Following those approvals, the commissioners voted to appoint Craig Cutchall to a one-year term on the BFJRA, with the term expiring January 3, 2027. The minutes record unanimous approval of the appointment.

The minutes do not include debate or opposing views on the amendments; commissioners proceeded with the motions and indicated the changes will be filed by the authority as appropriate.
