Palm Beach County ethics counsel offers advisory opinions to Boca Raton council

Rhonda Geiger, general counsel for the Palm Beach County Commission on Ethics, introduced the commission and urged the council to use its advisory services to prevent potential ethics violations.

"We'd so much — I'll say it one more time — we'd so much rather deal with things before they become a problem than wait and investigate them after they've been reported to us," Geiger said, describing the commission's preference for proactive engagement and advisory opinions. She invited council members and staff to contact her directly with questions and said the commission has already provided advisory opinions to several council members.

Council members thanked Geiger and noted past positive interactions; Geiger reiterated that staff will provide opinions and contact information is available.
