Resident urges city action after unsecured construction site in Boca Raton

At the meeting's public-request portion, Carrie Gallagher, a Boca Square resident, asked council to address an unsecured construction site at 957 Southwest 12th Street, saying it is not secured at night or on weekends and that she provided photographs to corroborate the condition.

"It's not being secured at night, Monday through Friday. It's not being secured on the weekends," Gallagher said, adding she has contacted code enforcement previously and is concerned someone could be injured or the site could be occupied by squatters.

City staff (Mr. Brown) responded that this was the first staff notification he had seen and that staff would follow up and be in contact with the resident. "This is the first I've heard of the incident, and we'll follow-up with the staff," Brown said.
