The Boca Raton Community Redevelopment Agency voted unanimously (5-0) on May 13 to adopt Resolution No. 2024-03-CRA, rescheduling the agency's second regular May meeting from Tuesday, May 28 at 1:30 p.m. to Wednesday, May 29 at 1:30 p.m.
Director Brown described the change, saying the resolution “reschedules the meeting that was scheduled for May 28 at 1:30 p.m. to Wednesday, May 29 at 1:30 p.m.” The item was placed on the agenda after members discussed consolidating the CRA meeting, a workshop and the regular council meeting to avoid a conflict with Memorial Day.
Council members debated whether to consolidate all meetings on the 28th or move them to the 29th so that members with scheduling conflicts could attend. Vice Chair Thompson and at least one other member said they preferred keeping meetings on the 28th; other members said moving to the 29th would avoid a schedule conflict. After discussion the board amended the agenda to include the resolution and then voted to adopt it.
The clerk conducted a roll call and recorded the motion passing 5-0. There was no public comment on the resolution during the hearing. The resolution provides for severability and an effective date and will be followed up by staff for noticing and scheduling.
