The Village of Richland Council handled routine governance items and community scheduling at its March 9, 2026 regular meeting.
Trustee Jason Mechenbier moved and Trustee Kim Lewis seconded approval of the March agenda; the motion carried. The council then approved the Feb. 9 regular meeting minutes and the Feb. 9 budget meeting minutes, following motions recorded in the minutes. Treasurer Jamie Ricca presented the financial statement for review and council members' questions were answered.
Trustee Jason Mechenbier moved and Trustee Kim Lewis seconded a motion to pay the cash disbursement journal for Feb. 9, 2026; that motion carried. In old business Trustee Kim Lewis reported the council is still waiting on estimates for a new village sign and said she will follow up in person with the sign business. The comprehensive ordinance review remains in the attorney's hands, according to the minutes.
Committee reports were brief: the police and fire departments reported no items; Clerk Mollie Fish is working on sending emails to Trustee Jason Mechenbier regarding buildings and tree issues; administrative staff will send performance-review information to Trustee Kim Lewis; the zoning/ordinance committee noted an open seat with an appointment planned for April. Public service reported that leaf pickup is in progress. The publications committee solicited ideas for a spring newsletter and recorded two service dates: stick pickup on April 20, 2026, and large-item pickup on May 9, 2026. The minutes also note a KABA meeting held on March 17, 2026.
President Pro-Temp Gail Koporetz reminded council members to post a notice on the village website about a Solar Panel Farm meeting at Gull Lake Middle School on March 25, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. The council moved to adjourn at 7:33 p.m.; Clerk Mollie Fish signed the minutes.
