The Cloud County Board of Commissioners on May 13 approved several personnel and financial actions during its regular session in Concordia.
Personnel actions recorded in the minutes include: a unanimous vote to hire Michael Chappell as a Corrections Officer effective May 13, 2024 at an hourly rate of $18.38 (motion by Commissioner Ron Copple; second by Commissioner Michael Cleveland); and a unanimous vote to change Michael Young’s classification and hourly rate from $17.34 to $18.04 effective May 19, 2024 at the end of his probationary period (motion by Commissioner Copple; second by Commissioner Cleveland). The minutes also record recognition of the resignation of Corrections Officer Emanuel Munoz-Alcala, effective May 14, 2024.
On financial matters the board approved Resolution 2024-09 to void ACH #903857 (April 8, 2024) for $135.00 payable to Linda M. Begnoche because the account was invalid. The board also approved submission of a request to the State seeking reimbursement of $16,292.71 for expenses related to the 2024 presidential primary election.
The board reviewed documents from Klenda Austerman LLC related to a tax foreclosure sale and reviewed the Budget Status and Fund Status reports as of April 30, 2024 showing an ending cash balance of $15,224,061.56. Payroll expenses totaling $181,104.77 were presented and approved, with an additional notation of payroll deductions and benefits totaling $75,495.17. The board approved abatements 2024-96 through 2024-98 with a net change of negative $39.80 and a refund of $25.10. Commissioner Cleveland reported attending a Farm Bureau meeting and the board approved the May 6, 2024 minutes as presented.
