Commission approves multiple amended plats, a lot split and Culver’s site plan; several items approved subject to staff/JUC comments

The Hurricane Planning Commission approved a slate of routine plats, amended plats and a final site plan at its March 12 meeting.

What passed: The commission approved AFP 26‑01 (Quail Creek Industrial Park Phase 7 amended final plat), AFP 26‑02 (FireRock Phase 3 — joining Lots 96 and 97), AFP 26‑03 (Ascent Hall Phase 1 amended lots), and AFP 26‑04 (Pioneer Estates Lot 7 lot split), each with the staff and JUC comments as conditions when noted. The body also granted final site‑plan approval for FSP 26‑06, Culver’s restaurant at 485 West State Street, after the agent described removal of one State Street access and parking arrangements; commissioners approved a double order/double drive‑through configuration subject to staff comments and a parking agreement remaining independent of the school (the applicant said a shared‑parking agreement may be negotiated later).

Why it matters: These approvals clear routine development and lot‑adjustment items from the commission’s docket and allow applicants to proceed with engineering and construction steps. Culver’s said it hopes to begin construction within weeks with a target opening in September/October.

Next steps: Approved amended plats will be recorded per city procedures after staff confirmations; Culver’s will proceed to permit stages, subject to meeting final conditions in the staff and JUC comments.
