Londonderry supervisors approve records disposal, staff pay increase and new golf manager position

The Londonderry Township Board of Supervisors on March 4 approved a set of administrative and financial actions, including a records‑disposal resolution, wage increases for seasonal golf course staff and the creation of a part‑time manager position at the township’s Sunset Golf Course.

Township Manager David Blechertas asked the board to adopt Resolution 2024‑06 authorizing disposal of municipal records under the Pennsylvania Municipal Records Act. Vice Chair Ron Kopp moved the resolution; Supervisor Mel Hershey seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Blechertas also presented a wage scale analysis and requested a 5% pay increase for seasonal maintenance and restaurant staff at Sunset Golf Course effective March 5, 2024. Supervisor Anna Dale moved the pay increase; Supervisor Mike Geyer seconded and the board approved the increase unanimously.

The board approved creation of a part‑time Golf Course Operations Manager position at $22.50 per hour and appointed Tyler Christensen—who the manager said has worked at the course for more than nine years—to the role. Supervisor Mike Geyer moved to create the position and appoint Christensen; Supervisor Anna Dale seconded and the motion passed unanimously.

On finance items, Manager Blechertas presented invoices for payment covering Jan. 30–Feb. 26, 2024 totaling $392,130.09 across township funds. Supervisor Anna Dale moved to approve payment of the bills; Supervisor Mel Hershey seconded and the board approved the payments unanimously. The board also approved open purchase orders as of Feb. 26, 2024 totaling $255,931.12 after a motion by Supervisor Mel Hershey and second by Supervisor Anna Dale.

All recorded motions on these items passed by unanimous vote. No executive session was reported for this meeting.
