Londonderry Township supervisors approved a series of routine and project motions during the April 17 work session.
Resolution 2024‑10: The Board approved an intergovernmental agreement with Derry Township to repave roughly 250 feet of Shopes Church Road that lies inside Londonderry Township. Manager David Blechertas estimated the Township’s portion at about $25,000 to $30,000; Supervisor Anna Dale moved the resolution, Supervisor Ron Kopp seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Volunteer support at events: The Board unanimously authorized the Londonderry Township Volunteer Fire/Police to provide traffic control and emergency medical standby for three community events this year — the Make‑A‑Wish event, the Memorial Day Parade and the Arts & Crafts Fair in Middletown — to address Workers’ Compensation carrier concerns about volunteers' scope of duties. Dean Hooper, Captain of the Volunteer Fire/Police, described the volunteers’ role and the Board expressed support.
Personnel and contracts: The Board approved a 5% salary adjustment for part‑time code office employee Edward Kazlauskas, effective April 17. The Board also accepted a quote from MPE Engineering to select a design firm to prepare specifications and bidding documents for major roof and HVAC renovations at the Sunset Golf Course clubhouse; the scope includes review of as‑built plans and interviews of up to three design firms.
Finance: Supervisors approved payment of open purchase orders across funds with totals reported by Manager Blechertas: General Fund $103,686.99; Golf Course Fund $128,234.22; Debt Service Fund $13,168.86; total $245,090.07. The motion to pay bills passed unanimously.
Other approvals: The Board approved use of the Township building by the Dauphin County Conservation District to host a public MS‑4 educational outreach meeting. The minutes record that the Traffic Signal Maintenance Agreement for the Tolani project had been approved April 1; on April 17 the Board approved only the Traffic Signal Permit itself.
The Board recorded unanimous voice votes for the listed motions; where motions named movers and seconders the minutes record those members. Remaining items such as FEMA’s response on the Community Assistance Visit (CAV) were reported as pending.
Provenance: See minutes items beginning at SEG 008 through SEG 015 and SEG 020 for votes and approvals.
