Londonderry Township adopts rental program operating guideline and adds rental permit fees

Codes and Zoning reported the Township has developed a Rental Program Standard Operating Guideline to implement recently adopted long‑term and short‑term rental ordinances and updates to the Bed & Breakfast ordinance. The guideline includes a rental housing fact sheet, long‑term and short‑term rental requirements sheets, a rental license application and certificate, an inspection report form, and an appeals form for Board review.

Duane Brady said the goal is to make these materials functional on the Township website and estimated that licensing decisions would take about 30 business days once applications are submitted. The Board approved Resolution 2024‑09 to amend the 2024 fee schedule and add fees for Bed & Breakfasts and rental dwellings; the motion was moved and seconded and passed unanimously.

The standard operating guideline also formalizes a citizen input/complaint intake process via a web‑based form tied to the Building Code Official’s account to allow remote filing and faster processing. The Board did not raise objections and directed staff to post the materials and implement the licensing workflow.
