Citizen comment at the March 4 Londonderry Township meeting included appeals to limit short‑term rentals and requests for broader notice on proposed ordinances, while the board approved codification of recently adopted stormwater rules and received planning updates.
Resident Kevin Little addressed the board during Citizens Input and emphasized the desire to keep short‑term rental units out of residential districts; he also offered suggested language for the township’s proposed short‑term rental ordinance, including recommended wording for the definition of 'bed and breakfast.' Ms. Barb Little urged the township to expand advertising procedures to encourage greater resident input on ordinances that affect the community. Separately, a Mr. Pistor raised concerns about the Lytle Farms development’s potential impacts to his adjoining property, citing issues such as tree removal, an earthen berm and topsoil disposal and said he has been in contact with the developer.
Codes and Zoning Officer Duane Brady reported February office activity, noted there were no zoning hearing board cases in February and said staff continue to work with the Planning Commission on the Lytle Farms and Tolani projects. Brady told supervisors that proposed ordinances will be published in time for the April 1 hearing date.
Brady also requested and the board approved codification work by General Code for Stormwater Ordinances 2023‑01 and 2023‑02 in hard copy and in the online e‑code for $4,860; Supervisor Mel Hershey moved the codification and Vice Chair Ron Kopp seconded; the vote was unanimous.
The board did not take immediate action on the short‑term rental or Lytle Farms concerns during this meeting; those matters remain before the Planning Commission or pending future ordinance hearings.
