At the March 4 meeting the township’s engineer told supervisors that engineering staff and the municipal authority are preparing outreach to property owners along State Route 230 about required connections to the public sanitary and water systems.
Engineer Mike Wood said HRG and the Donegal Township Municipal Authority (DTMA) have been preparing two sets of letters: one for new owners informing them of their requirement to connect to the public sewer system along the SR 230 corridor, and another for properties that remain delinquent warning that failure to connect will result in enforcement action by the township. Wood said about 39 properties are expected to receive the letters and staff anticipated sending them during the first week of March.
Wood also said HRG is communicating with the developer’s engineer regarding the feasibility of connecting the Londonderry Fire House to the SR 230 water/sewer system. No determination was recorded at the meeting and the board did not take immediate enforcement action; the letters are intended as the next step in notifying affected property owners.
