At the Jan. 17 work session, the Londonderry Township Board of Supervisors tabled a set of proposed ordinance changes and scheduled public outreach before further action. Solicitor Brett Flower identified several draft items that the board tabled for additional review and public process.
The items recorded as tabled were: a proposed zoning text amendment addressing mobile homes, short-term rentals and bed-and-breakfast uses; a proposed new Chapter 11 to comprehensively regulate, license and inspect rental housing; a proposed zoning text amendment regarding self-storage uses; and a proposed amendment adding buffer yard requirements for large residential or mixed-use developments. The minutes state the motions were tabled; no vote tallies, mover/second details or advertisement dates were recorded in the meeting text.
Several residents — Kevin Little, George Studenroth, Chris O'Hara, Laura Little, Steve Fulton and Patience Basehore — who identified themselves as living on Autumnwood Drive and Oak Crest Drive, addressed the board with questions, recommendations and concerns about the proposed ordinances and amendments. Their comments focused on potential effects to their properties and asked the board to consider resident impacts as the board advances ordinance language and public hearings.
The board did not adopt any of the proposed ordinances at the work session and instead deferred the items for more review and public engagement.
