Londonderry supervisors approve Susquehanna Greenway grant application and authorize four dirt-and-gravel road grant applications

At its Feb. 21, 2024 work session the Londonderry Township Board of Supervisors approved two grant actions aimed at environmental and road maintenance projects.

MS4 Specialist Monique Dykman asked the board to approve an application to the Susquehanna Greenway Mini-Grant Round 2 for up to $3,900; Supervisor Mel Hershey moved approval, Supervisor Anna Dale seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.

Public Works Director Andy Brandt asked the board to authorize staff to apply for Low Volume Dirt and Gravel Road grants for four projects: a storm sewer pipe replacement on Hoffer Road; additional Hoffer Road swale work and installation of a u‑drain; swale work and paving restoration on N. Geyers Church Road (off Colebrook Road); and either storm sewer replacement or replacement plus swale construction for Brinser Road/Hickory Lane. Supervisor Mel Hershey moved to authorize the applications; Supervisor Anna Dale seconded; the motion passed unanimously.

The actions place the projects in the pipeline for grant consideration; the minutes record authorization to apply but do not specify grant award outcomes or construction schedules.
