The board approved several operational and maintenance items during the Feb. 21 work session.
The board approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Londonderry Athletic Association to build a batting cage at Sunset Park, with the condition that the project not expand township territory and be at no cost to the township; Supervisor Anna Dale moved the motion and Secretary/Treasurer Mike Geyer seconded; it passed unanimously.
Public Works Director Andy Brandt requested a $570 purchase from Spittle Hydraulics for hydraulic fittings and hoses to repair the township's power broom — a repair judged far less costly than replacing the broom (quotes for a new broom were around $23,000). The board approved the purchase unanimously.
Brandt also asked the board to approve Resolution 2024‑05 to dispose of surplus township property through public bidding. The listed items for disposal include gabion baskets, yellow flashing lights, chainsaws, tampers, a transfer pump, old fire hydrants, waterline fittings and used work lights. Secretary/Treasurer Mike Geyer moved approval and Supervisor Anna Dale seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Manager David Blechertas reported the Sunset Golf Course clubhouse needs major HVAC and roof repairs; he proposed design work in spring, bidding in summer and construction in fall. He also summarized the administration building feasibility study and advised staff should develop an RFP to convert the basement into a Codes and Zoning area; no formal motion for the RFP step is recorded in the minutes.
