The Londonderry Township Board of Supervisors tabled several motions Jan. 17 to advertise public hearings on multiple draft ordinances covering zoning and rental housing.
Solicitor Brett Flower presented the draft ordinances and the related procedural motions. The specific items tabled were a zoning text amendment concerning mobile homes, short-term rentals and bed-and-breakfast uses; a proposed new Chapter 11 establishing comprehensive regulation, licensing and inspections for rental housing; a zoning text amendment addressing self-storage uses; and a text amendment to add a buffer yard requirement for large residential or mixed-use developments. The minutes list these motions as tabled; no advertising dates or adoption actions were approved at the work session.
During the public-comment portion of the meeting, residents from Autumnwood Drive and Oak Crest Drive — Kevin Little, George Studenroth, Chris O'Hara, Laura Little, Steve Fulton and Patience Basehore — offered comments, recommendations and questions about the proposed ordinances. The minutes do not provide verbatim testimony but note that these residents urged that the Board consider their concerns before scheduling public hearings.
The tabled status preserves further discussion and gives the board time to consider public input before moving to advertise hearing dates or adopt any ordinance language.
