BLR requests $205,000 to renovate committee rooms in Big Mac Building; request approved

Marty Garrity of the Bureau of Legislative Research asked the Executive Subcommittee to approve using the bureau's annual $205,000 appropriation for committee-room expenses to renovate committee rooms on the 4th floor of the Big Mac Building.

Garrity said the rooms are outdated, dating to the building's 1970s configuration, and that renovating the 4th floor would tie those spaces to recent House renovations and to changes on the 5th floor. "At this time there has been no request, but I would like to request the use of those monies to renovate committee rooms," Garrity said.

Members had no questions and moved, seconded and approved the request by voice vote; the chair announced the ayes had it. The transcript does not record individual vote tallies or a detailed project budget beyond the $205,000 appropriation amount.
