Hurricane City Council voted unanimously to rezone 1188 South 920 West from residential agriculture (1 acre) to residential agriculture (0.5 acre), an action described by staff as a routine lot-line adjustment to aid an adjacent property purchase.
Carl, the staff presenter, said the planning commission and staff had reviewed the request and supported the change. He told the council the remaining parcel with the existing house will meet the minimum half-acre requirement and the buyer intends a lot-line adjustment rather than a subdivision.
Council members asked about street access if future development were proposed, and staff noted that any site development beyond the current lot-line adjustment would require appropriate street improvements and additional review. After discussion, a council member moved to approve the rezoning and another council member seconded; the council voted in favor with no recorded opposition.
