Human Resource Director Judy Stevenson and Payroll & Benefits Administrator Jamie Park briefed the commission on Pelorus Vision, a web-based payroll and HR portal that offers online timekeeping, self-service access to pay and benefits records, timesheet approvals and administrative tools.
Stevenson and Park said Pelorus Vision could reduce paper processes and improve payroll accuracy by enabling employees to prepare timesheets, request leave, submit receipts, view pay history and access W-2 forms online. Supervisors could review and approve timesheets, manage geofences and IP restrictions, and provide HR documents electronically.
The county discussed cybersecurity concerns and cost: staff said the price would be $4.00 per employee per month. Information Systems Director Taylor Warr was asked to review Pelorus Vision 27s security and help determine whether the county should move forward.
No procurement decision was made during the meeting; commissioners asked staff to follow up with technical risk assessments and cost comparisons before making a purchasing recommendation.
