Council members provided brief operational updates March 17 on several ongoing items: the sewer project remains active with a meeting scheduled to pursue outstanding issues; planning and zoning staff are finalizing a short‑term rental ordinance that will return with a public hearing after staff review; and community events are planned for spring and early summer.
Mayor (S1) said she has a meeting scheduled next Tuesday to try to move the sewer project forward and asked council members to review budget requests for city groups ahead of next month. Planning and zoning staff (S8) reported the short‑term rental ordinance remains with staff (Seth) for final checks, with a public hearing expected in the next month or two.
Council members also touched on community programming: a youth council Easter egg hunt is scheduled for April 4 at 10 a.m., a Spring Fling dance is planned for the coming Saturday, sports-court nets are to be installed Monday, and a health and safety fair is tentatively scheduled for early June. Staff and volunteers were urged to coordinate logistics and meeting times for event committees.
What’s next: staff will report back on the sewer meeting outcomes, planning and zoning will schedule the short‑term rental public hearing after staff review, and event committees will finalize logistics for the Easter egg hunt, Spring Fling and health fair.
