Board considers relocating historic bell near Roosevelt library; no commitment from board

During 'other items' Daniel Markley briefed the board on a request from a local group to relocate a historic bell (previously by the old library) to the Roosevelt branch grounds. Markley said the city and group have been courteous in discussions and that the county commission approves monuments under county policy.

Markley noted utilities near the proposed northwest location would need consideration and that donors have offered to cover concrete and related work. He said the library would not commit public funding or take ownership without completed funding and commission approval.

Board members thanked Markley for the update; no vote or formal approval was requested at the meeting.
