Commissioner Randy H. Bunch and his fellow commissioners voted unanimously Dec. 30 to adopt Fulton County's proposed budget for fiscal year 2026 and to approve a tax levy and appropriation resolution that maintains current tax rates for the coming year.
The board's action followed a presentation by Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed and Chief Financial Officer Mike Lamb, who told commissioners there were no changes to the proposed budget since it was publicly advertised. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to adopt the budget; the motion carried with all in favor.
During the meeting the board also approved the county's Accounts Payable dated Dec. 30, 2025 totaling $112,913.87 (General Fund $98,764.92; Debt Service $14,148.95) and accepted the December 2025 pension report as presented by HR Administrator Mary Huston. Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved passage of the Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution (Resolution 8 of 2025), which the board recorded as having no increase in taxes for 2026.
The commissioners approved an agreement to retain Keller Engineer, Inc. for fiscal year 2026 and said they will make a formal appointment of the firm at the county's Reorganizational Meeting on Jan. 6, 2026. The meeting record noted all motions on these fiscal items passed by unanimous vote.
The board adjourned at 11:15 a.m. after an executive session on personnel matters earlier in the meeting. The county will proceed with the adopted budget under the timetable presented by county finance staff.
