Fulton County adopts 2026 budget, holds tax rate steady

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners adopted the county'026 budget on Dec. 30, 2025, approving Resolution 8 of 2025, the Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution, with no increase in tax rates for the coming fiscal year.

Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed told the board there were no changes to the proposed budget since it was publicly advertised; the budget as presented was adopted after a motion by Commissioner Steven L. Wible and a unanimous vote. Chief Financial Officer Mike Lamb participated in presenting the proposed 2026 budget. HR Administrator Mary Huston presented the December 2025 Pension Report, which the board approved by motion.

The action finalizes spending plans and appropriations for county operations for 2026. The commissioners made no changes to the budget during the meeting and did not identify additional revenue sources or new programs funded beyond what was in the advertised proposal. The county will proceed under the adopted appropriation schedule until the next formal revision or supplemental action by the board.

The board voted on the resolution and budget during its regular meeting in the commissioners office in McConnellsburg. Next formal steps include distributing the adopted appropriation schedule to county departments and reflecting the levy in county tax records for 2026.
