A commissioner at the Urban Renewal Agency of Idaho Falls on March 19 urged the board to restore historical closing values for districts and to add performance metrics to future annual reports.
"I think it's it's well done. I really like the executive summary that shows the tax increment values on the current districts," the commissioner said while urging that the report also include closed districts' closing tax-increment values "at closing" rather than current values. The commissioner suggested those figures are "pretty easy" to add for the closing year and recommended including them in future reports.
The same commissioner also suggested the board revisit the agency's mission statement and consider adding performance measurements that compare predicted outcomes in redevelopment agreements with actual results. The chair responded that some closing numbers are already available in past annual reports online and agreed that adding the material could be informative.
No formal motion was made on these suggestions during the meeting; the items were discussed as potential enhancements to subsequent annual reports.
