Dr. Wood provided the superintendent's report, describing curriculum pilots, upcoming registration and training opportunities and district partnerships.
Dr. Wood said the district ran a K‑5 AGRA pilot this year at the fifth-grade level in partnership with the state and the Farm Bureau, which provides the curriculum at no charge. "They were very pleased with the way that it went this year with just doing 1 grade," Dr. Wood said, and the district plans to expand the program to fourth grade and use a hybrid approach in third grade while preserving some computer-lab instruction tied to assessment preparation.
Dr. Wood also reminded the public that kindergarten registration is scheduled for April 9 and that the district had reserved two slots to send teachers to state CTE training in July. The district said Farm Bureau provides training materials without cost to the district.
Enrollment details were also reported: "2,979 in K 12 and 60 in pre K," a board member said, with pre-K currently full and 80–100 expressions of interest recorded for the next year. The board noted that final awarding of pre-K seats will depend on upcoming eligibility determinations.
