The Decatur County Board of Commissioners recorded the following actions and outcomes at its regular meeting (motions carried unless noted):
- Approved an amended roadway usage agreement to allow construction traffic for a battery storage project, with required pre-construction videotaping, structural analysis and bonding to cover any future repairs (motion carried).
- Accepted an Indiana Department of Health grant for 100 gun locks, 30 trauma kits and 200 child ID kits (total $4,343.79) and authorized acceptance of the award (motion carried).
- Rescinded a prior contingent $25,000 opioid-fund award to Esperanza House, approved $2,000 from unrestricted opioid funds to SADD (Greensburg High School) and approved an $80,000 payment toward the ARC mortgage contingent on the ARC receiving Recovery Works funding (motions carried).
- Adopted Resolution No. 7 to expedite leasing of certain county property (Frontage Road parcels on the north side of SR 74), instructed staff to prepare a request for proposals and nominated a point of contact to manage site access and waivers (motion carried).
- Approved transfer of titles for two ambulances to the hospital so the hospital can reuse the ambulance boxes on new chassis (motion carried).
- Paused the county certificate (tax) sale to allow staff to review ~22 properties in greater detail (motion carried).
- Approved a fog-seal application for a stretch of 200 West (near City Park / ball diamonds) at an estimated cost near $3,800 to preserve surface condition and improve striping ahead of Park Road construction (motion carried).
- Approved an amendment to the pool BOT agreement adding approximately $600,000 for pool house renovation, furnishings and a new roof to restore the project budget to about $4.05 million (motion carried).
- Approved Baker Tilly to prepare the ARPA annual report/audit (estimated quote $4,900) and directed use of ARPA administrative funds to cover the engagement (motion carried).
- Approved use of the courthouse for the farmers market and Fourth Fridays activities (certificate of insurance on file) and approved a chamber membership-for-rental exchange (motion carried).
Many procurement bids were opened (lawn care, stone, asphalt emulsion, pipes and culverts, HMA overlay/wedging and fuel); awards were deferred to a subsequent meeting pending packet and insurance review.
