Fulton County OKs $230,699.51 State grant for 911 systems and hires per-diem dispatcher

Fulton County commissioners approved a State Interconnectivity Grant worth $230,699.51 to support a set of regional emergency communications maintenance projects and took action to hire a per-diem 911 dispatcher.

EMA/911 Director Brian Barton joined HR Administrator Mary Huston to present the grant request. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve and execute the State Interconnectivity Grant in the amount of $230,699.51 to be used toward SouthCentral Mountain CAD maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain CHE maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain ESInet maintenance, Fulton NG911 GIS maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain battery upgrade and Fulton ILEC maintenance projects. The motion carried unanimously.

Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to hire Troy Wagaman as a per-diem 911 dispatcher, effective pending clearances; the motion carried unanimously. A brief Salary Board meeting at 9:48 a.m. set the salary for the newly hired per-diem dispatcher. The meeting later entered an executive session at 10:01 a.m. for personnel matters and exited at 10:29 a.m. The board adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
