House welcomes Iowa United Nations Association and introduces two former pages

Representative Watkins introduced two former pages, asking members to give them a warm welcome: "Jake Coles, who is now going to Utah State, and, Matthew Harden, who's now doing the ... Mankato Flight School in Minnesota." A member also recognized visitors from the Iowa United Nations Association, noting they are led by Deborah Delo, executive director and professor of international relations at Drake University, and include college ambassadors from Iowa State, the University of Iowa, UNI, Grinnell and Drake.

Earlier in the opening remarks, the Chair announced that Representative Hayes of Mahaska would offer the prayer and that Becca Pike from Des Moines, clerk for Representative Hayes, would lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Members were asked to welcome the visiting students and the Iowa United Nations Association into the gallery.

The recognitions were ceremonial and informational; no legislative action or votes were associated with these introductions.
