Council approves D-1 liquor permit for Daley LLC at Smith Road location

Brook Park Council President Salvatore moved to approve a D-1 liquor permit for Daley LLC at 5751 Smith Road, and the council voted to approve the application after the law director said the business met legal criteria.

Law Director Adam Carroll told the caucus the proposed license would allow Daley LLC to sell beer for on-premises consumption and in sealed containers for carryout. "From the law department's viewpoint, we certainly would not object to this," Carroll said, calling the business "a viable business" and saying background checks indicated the license would be appropriate.

Council discussion was brief. Council members said they were familiar with the location and had no substantive objections; one member expressed a desire to hear directly from the business about hours and programming but did not oppose the permit. The council president called the motion and the roll was taken; the permit was approved.

The decision completes the council's consideration of the Department of Liquor Control application for Daley LLC. No members requested further study or conditions on the license at caucus; any formal licensing paperwork will follow the state's Department of Liquor Control process.

The council moved on to other agenda items.
