Council awards ITB 686 for Capitol carpet work to Rainbow Builders for up to $77,350

The Legislative Council authorized the award of Invitation to Bid (ITB) 686 for capital carpet removal and installation to Rainbow Builders Incorporated on March 18, approving a contract not to exceed $77,350.

JC Kestel, procurement officer for the Legislative Affairs Agency, told the council ITB 686 solicited bids to replace carpet in the House Finance Committee room, Senate Finance Committee room, the second-floor hallway, the Senate chambers and the House chambers. The ITB closed March 11 and produced one responsive bidder, Rainbow Builders Incorporated; the solicitation was evaluated on a best-price basis and the bidder met the minimum requirements.

Senator Giesel moved to authorize award of ITB 686 to Rainbow Builders for an amount not to exceed $77,350. With no questions from members, Miss Truitt called the roll and the motion passed 11 yeas, 0 nays. The council then returned to other business.

The procurement officer said he was happy to answer questions; none were raised in the record. The council recorded the contract award and the procurement documentation in the meeting materials.
