On March 3 the Redwood County Board approved a package of personnel policy revisions, acknowledged recent hires, approved a tobacco license and adopted a workplace violence prevention program.
The Board approved changes to the Wellness Preventative Care Incentive Policy making the physical exam and screening incentive an annual benefit and revised Sick for Wellness Policy by increasing the daily rate from $80 to $144 for an eight-hour day. The Board updated personnel policy sections to comply with the Emergency, Safe and Sick Time (ESST) and Minnesota Paid Medical Family Leave statutes and clarified timecard and meal-break rules. The Board also revised Policy 6.06 to increase the floating-holiday accrual to eight hours per year and updated Policy 6.12 to specify eligible positions and requirements for boot reimbursement in the Highway Department.
The Board acknowledged the hiring of Elyse Vogland as a full-time correctional officer effective March 9, 2026 (LELS Non-Licensed Correctional Officer step 1 $27.83) and the hiring of Sarah Buttiglieri as Assistant County Attorney effective April 13, 2026 on the 2026 Non-Union salary schedule Grade 18 step 1 $51.80. The Board also approved the 2026 tobacco license for Dacotah Ridge Golf Club.
Finally, on motion by Vice Chair Jim Salfer and second by Commissioner Corey Theis, the Board unanimously adopted the Redwood County Workplace Violence Prevention Program.
