Argo council approves agenda changes, convention funding and shirts in unanimous votes

The City of Argo City Council unanimously approved several administrative and budgetary items during its March 9 meeting.

Councilperson Rick Hopkins moved to amend the agenda to add two New Business items — rescheduling the March 23 meeting and approval of council and mayor shirts — and Councilperson Dennis Griffin seconded. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with all members recorded as "yes." Mayor Pro-Tem Corky Massey moved to approve the Work Session and Council minutes from Feb. 23, 2026; Councilperson Rick Hopkins seconded, and the minutes were approved by roll call.

In Old Business, Mayor Pro-Tem Massey moved to approve $6,000 from the General Fund for the Alabama League of Municipalities convention; Councilperson Dennis Griffin seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
